Paris goes ahead with its rooftop solar programTags£ºrooftop PV  PV plants  PV 

April, 2013: With the commissioning of another rooftop PV  system atop a government building, the City of Paris is moving ahead with its municipal solar program aiming to install solar panels on 200,000 square meters (50 acres) of rooftops by the end of 2014.

The PV system has been installed on a previous facility of France""s national state-owned railway company SNFC by French developer ArmorGreen. The PV system has been installed under the call for tenders for PV plants  over 250 kW issued by the French government in early 2012 and has gained access to a FIT of 15 euro cents per kWh. The investment for the project, amounting to €1.6 million, has been provided by the City of Paris (55%), Semaest (15%) and the region of Ile-de-France (30%)
