Suntech appoints new Chairwoman - SolarStar

Module manufacturer Suntech  has appointed Susan Wang  Chairwoman of its board of directors, replacing Dr Zhengrong Shi, the company""s outgoing Chairman.

Wang has been a director at Suntech since April 2009 having formerly served as the Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and Chief Financial Officer for electronics manufacturer Solectron.

In August last year, Dr. Shi, the founder of Suntech, made a surprise move and relinquished his roles as CEO and Chairman. He will now remain as a director of Suntech.

On her new appointment, Wang said: “Suntech’s board and management team are focused on resolving critical capital structure initiatives and charting Suntech’s path forward as a leading supplier of solar products.”
