Electricity demand in Italy may have once again dropped, but PV generation increased by 71.8%.
Grid operator Terna’s early provisional data demonstrates that PV covered 5.6% of the country’s electricity demand in 2012.
In December, PV system s generated 749GWh and covered 2.81% of electricity demand, down from 3% in December.
The report also found that renewable energies covered a total of 24.63% of the country’s electricity demand in 2012, up from 21.8% in 2011.
