JA Solar  is supplying 70MW of modules  to China-based system integrator, Shanghai CSET Co for several major commercial rooftop projects in the country.
The module supply deal is for JA Solar""s high-efficiency polycrystalline modules (255W - 260W) in a 60-cell format, with the first 20MW being delivered in December, 2013. The second tranche (50MW) is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2014, according to the company.
"This agreement is another sign of improving industry fundamentals and strong demand from the China market, which is expected to continue to grow rapidly in the next few years," said Baofang Jin, executive chairman and CEO of JA Solar.
The module manufacturer said the contract amount would be paid in full prior to delivery.
JA Solar has signed nearly 500MW of new supply and project contracts in the last few months focused on China. The company recently announced it would develop three solar power projects totalling 300MW in Xingtai City in China""s Hebei Province. The projects, located in Xingtai City""s Lincheng, Neiqiu and Xingtai counties, would each have a capacity of 100MW.
